Avatar Movie The buzz surrounding James Cameron's huge-budget return to science fiction has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. Avatar is the story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust against his will into an effort to exploit an alien planet rich in exotic life forms, and who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival. As an Avatar (a human mind in an alien body), he finds himself torn between two worlds.
More than ten years in the making, Avatar marks Cameron's return to feature directing since helming 1997's Titanic, the highest grossing film of all time and winner of eleven Oscars® including Best Picture.
The film, a mix of CGI and live action using brand new techniques which Cameron himself helped to develop, was shot with a special 3-D camera (also developed by Cameron), and will no doubt transport the audience into the alien world rich with imaginative vistas, creatures and characters.
Although the budget for this project is $195million, Avatar seems guaranteed to live up to the hype and expectations that are riding on it.
